Collect phase
You can collect information to add to a new project or an existing project. The type of information to collect depends on the source. Epiq Discovery enables you to collect information from a variety of sources, including:
- , which includes files you can access from your personal computer, shared drives, and network shares.
- , which collects information from a particular email address.
- , which collects information that exists on Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Amazon S3.
- Mobile data, which process mobile data collected via Cellebrite.
- , which collects information that exists at a particular URL to a maximum page depth.
- Bloomberg, which collects Bloomberg chat and email data.
- Microsoft 365, which collects Microsoft 365 OneDrive, Outlook mailbox, and Outlook calendar data from multiple accounts within an organization at the same time.
Automatic processing during collection
During Collection, you can automate subsequent tasks that occur during the Process, Analyze, Review, and Production phases to save time. In order to automate most of these tasks, you must select an existing template that defines the settings to complete the task. Each task you automate creates a separate job that runs in logical order by phase.
Processing does not require a template. However, before you automatically promote, image, or create production, verify that the applicable templates exist or create them. The following list shows tasks you can automate using .

- PII/PHI Detection during Promotion. This function is disabled by default. To enable this function, refer to Modify PII/PHI detection settings.
- Entity identification during Promotion. This function is disabled by default. To enable this function, refer to .

- Bates Prefix information when stamping by bates number

Collection size limitations
While Epiq Discovery can collect a large number of documents, at this time, limitations to collection includes:
- A total upload size that exceeds 1 TB. Instead, divide the documents into multiple uploads.
- An individual file that exceeds 20 GB.
